Staffing is increased from May through the end of October during the peak tourism season. The career division is organized into platoons, staffed 365/24/7 with a civil service Captain in command of three firefighters per platoon. The Battalion Chiefs preside in command over a Captain and two Lieutenants, who are all elected by their respective company members.
